During this time we’ve gained numerous certifications, including third-country-operator and line maintenance approvals from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in addition to both line and base approvals from the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (BCAA). That’s why we invested in modifying our Boeing 737 aircraft to enable the carriage of horses and other live animals. By installing specialist STC’s onto the aircraft we’re able to carefully control the climate onboard as well as carry the Vets, grooms and handlers required to transport this special cargo. We’ve transported a variety of live cargo including Arabian and thoroughbred horses, highly trained guard dogs and birds as part of conservation programs. This led us to join forces with PEMCO, a world renowned freighter conversion organisation based in Tampa, Florida, to develop a solution. Located at Bahrain International Airport and occupying 6,400 square metres, the space has been designed to accommodate Code D narrow-body aircraft up to and including the Boeing B757-300. The facility is equipped with Bahrain’s only portable adjustable wing docking station, a variety of jacks, tow-bars, ground power units, as well as portable air-conditioning and several million dollars of tooling. We’ve hooked up state-of-the-art high-speed fibre optic internet and telephone services as well as a 24 hour digital security system to continuously monitor movement in and around the hangar area.
